Our beloved leader is working himself into the ground in Southern California as we speak. We spoke this afternoon and

Senor Pena went to great lengths to tell me how much work an industrious American can do in comparison with a SCATCH BASTARD like me.

I did try to point out that working in sub zero temperatures 100mph winds and piercing sleet and rain was not an option in Southern California but for some reason the Big Bugger just didn’t seem to care!!!

On the course there have been some great developments not the least the laying of the foundation stone for our new Club-House. An artists impression of the new club house can be seen below

The 1^st tee has been moved back to original position with new screen to right to protect the Castle from wayward slices

There is a new drop zone for the 9^th (still a tricky shot, not to be played short!) (See below)

On the 1^st fairway extensive work has been done on the large trees to the right hand side. A large number of limbs have been removed to allow more light through to the fairway / green. (See below)

A New 1^st green is being built to USGA standards. Drainage is now in place and the guys are in the process of putting root zone down. The Green is due to be turfed and ready for play for May. The green has been moved to the left hand side of the fairway and now goes behind the newly enlarged left hand bunker.(See below)

Meantime if anyone wants a game on a Sunday just let me know.

I will have your fixture cards and Club Constitutions ready in the next few weeks ready for the start of the season.
